Big Trouble (2001)

Tim Allen is good for something other than "Home Improvement". Who'da guessed it.

A whole bunch of fun. That would be a good description for this movie. Not too much to think about, and very entertaining, it's a good movie to just sit down and watch.

The movie follows the happenings surrounding Eliot Arnold, (Tim the tool man Taylor), and a random array of other characters that fall neatly into place with each other. Puggy, a homeless man who loves fritos, moves to Miami to experience "Miami's fine Cuban cuisine". He soon runs into two low-lifes in a bar owned by Russians who just happen to have enough weapons in their back room to go to war with a small country. Eliot Arnold's son, Matt Arnold, is playing a game involving squirt guns and faux assassinations. He has to "kill" Jenny, the daughter of Arthur and Anna Hurk. As it just so happens, two hit men, (Dennis Farina and Jack Kehler) are in town to kill Arthur Hurk, who embezzled money from his company. Officers Monica Romero and Walter Kramitz come to investigate the disturbance of Matt trying to "kill" Jenny, and breaking Arthur's TV, which was actually shot by the rifle of the hit men. The characters all come together in a twisty plot that brings them together in an attempt to find a missing nuclear warhead. (which looks suspiciously like a garbage disposal...) Crazy shenanigans follow, all of which keep the audience laughing along the way.
Like i said, not too hard to think about. A good movie to sit down and laugh at, and admire the cleverness of how the characters get intertwined throughout. I like myself a good thinking movie, however movies like this one always get a thumbs up from me. Never too complicated to follow, yet never boring, it's a good one for pretty much anyone who likes a good comedy. I would strongly recommend it to anyone with a few hours of time and nothing to do and wants a good laugh.
